The Piedmont Regional Council approved the new Regional Plan Asbestos 2016-2020. The measure, whose process was started with the adoption of the Plan by the Board in June 2015, it arrived in the courtroom after the unanimous approval of the Environmental Commission of Palazzo Lascaris.

Among the most important measures included in the Plan:

  • the completion of asbestos mapping of natural and man-made and the reclamation of sites of national interest of Casale Monferrato and Corio-Balangero;
  • disposal of waste containing it, through the identification of new storage sites or alternative methods;
  • the development of the health center for the fight against mesothelioma;
  • informing citizens through special municipal offices;
  • training new technicians.
