  • Clinical epidemiology
To provide methodological and statistical collaboration in the field of clinical research and quality assurance in oncology to the scientific, clinical and regulatory community, in particular to Health Services at the Regional level. To produce regional population-based reports on the use of health care cancer services (diagnosis, treatment and hospitalization).

  • Primary prevention
To provide Local Health Authorities with the methodological support for planning, implementing and evaluating the impact of primary prevention programmes designed for individuals (e.g. interventions on lifestyle, nutrition, physical activity), and for life and work environment.

  • Secondary prevention
To provide Local Health Authorities with the methodological and operative support for planning, implementing and evaluating the cancer screening programmes, and for training the dedicated personnel. To conduct specific research projects on cancer screening.

  • Cancer registry
