The SISMEC Working Group Course dedicated to causal inference will be held in Milan from April 16th to 18th.

Causal inferences play a predominant role in the scientific field. In epidemiology, in particular, the goal and ambition of most researchers is to determine an unbiased estimate of the effect of being exposed to a certain risk factor on a well-defined outcome (disease, death). In recent years there have been important statistical developments that go beyond the traditional multivariate regression techniques.

The goal of the initiative, now in its sixth edition, is to discuss the state of the art with respect to these issues, while maintaining a practical focus, and to evaluate our current and future capabilities to effectively address the questions of cause and effect.
