The activation and evaluation of ERAS protocols in Piedmont begins in gynecological and colorectal surgery. The initiative, which is part of the wider scope of the EASY-NET project, aims to improve postoperative recovery parameters.

ERAS is a multidisciplinary peri-operative management program that includes the presence of a team composed of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, dieticians and dieticians with the shared goal of optimizing and facilitating rehabilitation after surgery, allowing the patient's quick return home.

The evaluation of the results of the ERAS protocol implementation on a regional scale is part of the wider EASY-NET project, funded by the Ministry of Health and seven Italian Regions. The cornerstone of EASY-NET: improving the quality of care and reducing inequalities of access to effective treatment in different clinical and organizational settings.

The Regions taking part in EASY-NET are: Piedmont, Lazio, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Calabria, Sicily.
